Pieter Zuidema
Pieter is a professor in tropical forest ecology and management at Wageningen University, the Netherlands. He initiated and led the Timtrace project which develops and tests techniques to verify the geographic origin of tropical timbers. Pieter and his team use chemical and genetic tracing techniques, have pioneered the development of tracing based on multi-element analyses and combine chemical and genetic techniques to increase the accuracy and spatial resolution of timber tracing.
