Evaluation platform

The World Forest ID Evaluation platform gives multiple researchers and laboratories the utility of World Forest ID’s peer- reviewed origin models, trained with a unique chemical reference dataset, derived from our sample collection. It allows users to scrutinize traded products and forest-connected supply chains for timber, soy and cocoa, thereby supporting investigators, prosecutors, companies and certification schemes that want objective scientific information about provenance. The platform will be available to laboratories that have worked with us to calibrate measurements and replicate sample data. Calibration is necessary so that the chemical measurements of a traded sample can be confidently compared with our stable isotope ratio and trace element reference data.  The platform is currently in beta testing with members of the World Forest ID Consortium, but we plan to expand its functionality and availability more broadly in 2025.
