Evaluation platforms

The World Forest ID Evaluation platforms give multiple researchers and laboratories the utility of World Forest ID’s reference data and peer- reviewed origin models, trained with our unique sample reference dataset. The platforms allow users to scrutinize traded products and forest-connected supply chains for timber, soy and cocoa, thereby supporting investigators, prosecutors, companies and certification schemes that want objective scientific information about provenance.

The platforms will be made available to laboratories that have worked with us to calibrate measurements and replicate sample data. Calibration is necessary so that the chemical measurements of a traded sample can be confidently compared with our stable isotope ratio and trace element reference data.

The platforms are currently in beta testing with members of the World Forest ID Consortium, but we plan to expand their functionality and availability more broadly in 2025, subject to funding.
